Title's a bit confusing then? PMR446 for UK makes sense, PMR is totally different. That all said, not all radios have those CTCSS channels programmed in - quite a few only have a small number - maybe 6? The hobbyist chat community normally switch CTCSS off anyway?

Perhaps would be better described as PMR for Europe and beyond......
PMR446 has been adopted by most (all?) European countries. Some insist that tones are always used.
