Cheers - got them loaded now.

Q re Shopwatch - get very regular data transmission sounds only on this channel. Dont want to delete it as think I once heard a voice but its a driving me nuts. Is this pretty much standard and at same time makes me wonder if all those other freq I have found with data only and locked out, might also be hiding voice traffic too?

Several of those are the same as shopwatch with a 90's modem connected :/ Am appreciating the Temp L/O on this scanner vs my old one though as now now afraid to use it :D

456.700 - some kind of plant / maybe docks as talks about pumps etc

Alan K, the director frequency at EDI is something to do with capacity at airport/approach airspace, I'm hazzarding a guess but I think it has something to do with holding patterns for approaching aircraft into EDI whilst 121.200 deals with immediate traffic inbound. It has been known that during the Tattoo the director frequency is opened to allow the flypast to take place whilst any HEAVY traffic is held at TARTAN via the director and 121.200 guides a trickle of flights in whilst tattoo flypast takes place. Chris on the airband section would be best placed to answer the question.

I have actually heard it used once in last few months and was indeed when there was an emergency landing and umpteen aircraft were circulating around the borders (Tartan?)

Spot on! Around Peebles is the designated hold (TARTAN) for inbound to EDI. It has been known on the odd occasion for planes to go wandering around the city zone or hold Further toward the North face of the Pentlands, but that's only been an occasion, (probably put on hold midway through approach due to problems on runway, and does the tesco car park boy racer routine {doughnuts} around the Pentland/Gilmerton area) Hope that helps. I know this wee digression should be in the Air Band thread, but I had to answer a good question! :D

Going back to the subject, I will be adding the other shopping centres to my shopwatch list!
