166.6675 Glasgow Area.

Does anyone know which taxi company is broadcasting on 166.6775 in the Glasgow area, and which area of Glasgow they are based? I can hear them out in Bellshill, and I can barely hear my local taxi company, and they're only a mile and a half away.

Did you mean 166.675 or 166.6875? 166.6675 isn't a 12.5kHz step.

If so its Spring Radio Cars aka Glasgow private hire based in Foundry Street,Springburn Glasgow.

They have a small mast with various end feds by looks of it-see pic.Signal is pretty good across the city.

According to licence specs;

Antenna ERP (W) 4.0
Antenna Type OM
Antenna height above ground level (m) 110.0

Theres also Kelvin cabs based Kelvin Industrial Estate East kilbride,prob closer to you on 167.6875MHz

Yeah, you are both right guys, I was just scanning and it stopped on that frequency when they were transmitting, so I assumed it was that... But they are much clearer on 166.675. Thanks. I think it is the springburn one, it's definitely Glasgow somewhere. I'll give the EK one a try too, cheers.
