Re: 182.4625
sadly i didn't manage a recording!!....it was a very strong signal and clear modulation, with a lot of audio tests from different areas. obviously on a repeater i would say by the sound of things, still receiving chirping data burst tonight on frequency .

Re: 182.4625
Its listed in the wtr as one of the new RETB freqs. They may have started testing.
What location did you here the transmission? I assume you received voice coms and data. The data may be transmitting a single line token.

Re: 182.4625
Cant think who else would be using lower band 3 in that part of the world although strange that one freq used in locations normally covered by three channels unless it is a test freq.
Do you recall what if anything was said?

there was also a frequency less strong neil. 181.4125. the voice comms was counts from 1 to 10 and and asking for a test token on 182.4625 today there has been bursts of carrier but no voice comms and still chirping sound data on the channel .

Re: 182.4625
Hi guys i am a bit of a newbie to the RETB listening.I wrongly assumed the rail stuff when to GSM years ago when they were taking the big long yagis off the masts down my way.
Just so i have it right, you can listen to RETB at present because its analogue trunked in the band 3 region, but it is all going digital to GSM-R? or is the RETB simply being upgraded at prsent but will still remain analogue?
Also found these freqs in a search on the web (not sure if any use?)
Scottish Region RETB Frequencies
204.8500FM Helensburgh / Garelochhead / Taynuilt
205.0500FM Glen Douglas / Arrochar & Tarbet / Ardlui / Glenfinnan
205.1000FM Corrour / Tulloch / Roy Bridge / Spean Bridge / Arisaig / Mallaig
205.1500FM Bridge of Orchy / Rannoch
205.3500FM Glasgow / Dalmally
205.4000FM Crainlarich / Upper Tyndrum / Tyndrum Lower
205.9500FM Fort William / Banavie / Loch Eil Outward Bound
206.1500FM Connel Ferry / Oban

Re: 182.4625
I was always wondering about all the Band3 PMR activity in the UK vs old analog TV. Most of the EU used to have a TV broadcasts allocated there and I do believe past the eastern border there's still a plenty of TV broadcast allocations. Weren't they ever affecting FM business?
Resistance is futile.

Re: 182.4625
at the moment the RETB frequency in oban is 205.800 from the end of this year the RETB will migrate to the new channels which it sounds like they are trialing and testing at the moment and is analogue, whether that will change when they move is yet to be seen?? .

Re: 182.4625
Hi
That settles it. Its testing the new RETB system as 181.4125 is also one of the new channels and obtaining test tokens refers to single line tokens.
RETB and NRN networks still analog but NRN will be replaced by GSM-R by the end of the year and RETB changing to new frequencies.
