new community fm station glasgow

Post by radioenthusiast2011 »

Camglen Radio currently doing test transmissions on 107.9MHz.

They have a 5 year community licence from ofcom.

Coverage of Rutherglen and Cambuslang and probably surrounding areas.Assume they will be using max power of 25watts?

What's wrong? Pretty much the end of the fm bc.
Resistance is futile.

Just unusual... It's literally the last stop on the FM dial.

I guess it's less of a deal with these very low power, short term licenses.

Most community, but not all, are either at one end or the other of the Fm band, from 88 - 106 is usually BBC national or the bigger local radio station operators.

Actually, there are quite a few within 88-108 although RSLs on 87.7 are very common...

Allocations are usually at least 0.2 away from the band edges for obvious reasons though. There are exceptions but they are very rare, at least from what I have seen...

CR licences:

RSL licences:

Incidentally, does anyone know how to search for these by frequency across all license types?

Listening to 107.9mhz signal on standard car tuner with standard whip on roof.

Started losing signal around Haggs on M80 while travelling north.

Pretty good signal up until then!

Heres a wee pic of some of the transmission gear that Camglen radio are putting to use!

Think this might be the Broadcast Warehouse transmitter TX50 (turned down of course!) series with rds and limiter.
