462.5625

Post by scottyboy »

On another post it was mentioned that 462.5625 was heard in Hamilton, I have found what sounded like motorbike training using this frequency,
Now the frequency rang a bell and I couldn't work out why but just checked something and it is channel 1 of the American frs radios, the 22 channel radios that you can buy on fleabay rather cheaply.
also if I mind correctly channel 2 of these radios clash with the fire service on scene handhelds repeater input frequency so if it is those radios that they are using then I hope they don't use channel 2 one time and the fire service repeater is on!!

Don't think it was from there but will monitor it and try to see.
I didn't have the freq programmed in yesterday when motorbike training pulled up across from me and I could see the instructor talking. I checked pmr446 as Route 66 use that but nothing.
Just my luck a great chance to confirm it and I missed it!

I think this freq is one used in the USA for their version of pmr446. Used to be a building firm in Nottingham that caused havoc when they switched the cross band repeater on.

Confirmed this frequency was being used yesterday by motorbike training. They came round where I was driving and I flicked the radio to this frequency and there they were. Only had the frequency programmed in with no tones.
