If 177 is working nearby it's worth listing to 449.5375 for their on-board comms! They were using this freq on Saturday and I could hear them talking on Airwaves as well as talking to the mountain rescue teams on CH62A (156.125). A very interesting freq to watch if 177 is about although they don't always transmit their on-board audio!

There are a few other channels as well for their on-board comms, different aircraft use different channels. Was listening to these whilst staying near RAF Valley in wales. On one channel was SAR Seaking (Rescue 144?) and the other was pilots training in a griffin heli. Very interesting to listen to.

All very well, but will the frequencies change or remain when Bristow take over ops?

was Rescue 137 working yesterday but thanks for the UHF freqs, will get those into the radio at some point.

Ah, exactly there Strat, I have a funny feeling we might see (hear or not) the end of analogue voice comms when the new birds take over. Unless there is some CAA thing that means they have to be co-ordinated by the same kind of 5680kHz service.

Mind you, am sure that this now for profit contractor for SAR wont be wanting to spend anything extra on equipment so fingers crossed it stays analogue.

Hi All - any update on Bristow freqs ?
We had various Bristow SAR over York recently - and I did not hear anything on the usual freqs.
Any confirmation ie would they use 449 as Recue 177 used to ?
Thanks

419.1125 is the only freq I've heard used by Bristow helis, though I suspect they must have a spare in case two helis are in close proximity.
