They've gone silent for a good while, I wonder if they've migrated to DMR or just not as active these days.

In hearing them talk but still get slot of buzzing like digital. Is there anyway I can block that noise out on my baofeng?

I'm a DV1 user so hear digital transmissions. There shouldn't be digital buzzing on that frequency just now. I had heard them trialling out digital on that frequency months ago,but it seemed not to have been taken up and as a result you shouldn't hear the drilling sound of digital there. I live in the Newcraighall area and haven't heard it on that frequency. Someone with a baofeng may be able to give you advice.

So, to bring up an old thread, I think the digital noise you can hear on the channel is Edinburgh UNi Digital radios that also share the same frequency as Edinburgh Council CCTV.

Just a wee update to say that Edinburgh CCTV are still analogue but as previous comment says you do get the DMR sound over it from Edinburgh Uni radios. I was wondering will the CCTV and shops hear this on their radios or does it not work like that?

The Edinburgh CCTV network will use CTCSS codes on their radios to open the squelch when a broadcast is from their transmitter.

I believe that CCTV have now switched to an NXDN system on the same frequency

Rats!!! I'll bet it's the NXDN that can't be heard in that case!
Still looking out for the St James quarter frequencies (my searching is proving fruitless so far)
I take it Cammy Toll is still NXDN?

Forget my last posting here, now that I'm no longer an Edinburgh resident, I'll be checking the Livingston and West Lothian frequencies. I'm between Newbridge and East Calder.
