North West 200 Frequencies

Post by Bannside »

Anyone heard or discovered any interesting North West 200 frequencies at all? As far as I know the clerk of the course, safety team and event management are on Tetra but the likes of TV/marshalls/course engineers etc should still be on discoverable frequencies. Had a quick search this morning on the scanner but didn't come up with any sadly.

You will find the tv commentary team in the 420 to 470 range if I mind right from last year.
There is a first aid/medic frequency which is busy during practice and races its 163.900. It was pretty busy this eve with various call signs. If I pick up anymore or dig out any from last year I will gladly pass them onto you mate.

Regards
Steve

Hi Steve,

Yeah I can confirm both 438.4000 and 163.900 was busy with traffic today - many thanks for posting these. Tried a quick scan on a few other frequency channels but with little or no radio traffic due to the lack of races and resulting incidents. Sad to see the day was ruined by the weather.

Hi i Know its too late as the event is over, but here is some frequencies I picked up

163.900 St John Ambulance
144.625 Raynet on Channel Yankee 3
438.400 Raynet, I was gwttinf the Raynet Mobile on this located at each post around the course
449.475 Select security who were operating the gates in the pit area.

These have been active the past 2 years and saved me getting soaked this year past as I stayed in my car til I heard that bikes were going on the track

I dont think asking for Manchester frequencies on the Northern Ireland section will be much good to you mate.
the "North West 200" that we are chatting about is not north west England, its the name of a motorbike race held here in N.I every year..

I think there is a section on here for your area

good luck..

If anyone with a bit of linux experience and a SDR dongle wants to try decoding the TETRA signals:
