Grand National 2017
All,
Grand National 2017 is approaching and the build up has already started.
National Radio Bank is the supplier and in the past have supplied a temporary MotoTRBO Capacity Plus site on UHF.
This year however, it appears that VHF is where the action is at. There's various tech assigned licenses in force, but it would still be worth checking the short-term hire channels are they usually spring up some surprises! It would be interesting to hear from local users what is what. Please don't post Talkgroup ID's or other intimate details, let's not spoil it for ourselves! Of the various licenses in force, it seems that only one has been specially issued for the event, and possible National Radio Bank hold a permanent license for the site. It's worth bearing in mind the amount of radio users about too when listening to these freqs! I expect them to be all DMR, a group of them Cap+
_
License 0991569
167.4875 Repeater
_
License 1075194
165.7000 Repeater
_
License 0867824
165.3375 Repeater
165.4750 Repeater
165.5625 Repeater
_
I'd like to know myself what people manage to here, all the repeaters are only 5 watts, but on VHF and where they are, they should kick out a fair signal. If you don't feel comfortable posting in here, then PM me by all means!
Have fun,
Scott.

Don't know why they need train guards on Northern Rail, the trains are so old nobody is going to steal them

Re: Grand National 2017
Anyone manage to grab anything?
Most of the action was actually on UHF systems, presumably on hire frequencies. 3 security Talkgroups that I know of and several others in use for other operations on the day.
Sometimes I wonder if I'm talking to myself on here!
Scott.

Re: Grand National 2017
Yes most of the communications were on several channels between 440.000 to 442.000mhz which i think was a capacity plus system.
