Floods Croston Lancashire

Post by ChrisUBC800XTL »

Big clean up and repairs to flood defence taking place a few meters from my front door. Chinook helicopters flying in supplies, environment agency helicopters and other unknown aircraft circling overhead. Lots of multi agency activity on the ground as well.

Not may hits on the scanner some locals on uk cb and a few hits on pmr446.

Haven't heard anything much on airband or vhf hi-band.

Am i right in thinking there all on Airwave or Dmr?

There just regular helicopters, probably on hire. A police officer i talked to earlier mentioned they were environment agency.

132.650mhz very strong signal. Unknown user talking about depths and distance markers.

Will post if i get any more.

Ahh i see thanks, expect they will be using VHF ATC Low Radar for the area they are in and as for Air to Ground they may just be using hand signals. Should get some hits on SAR/MRT and Fire ground Frequencies as i did in Calderdale on boxing day. Also worth putting in your scanner are the Polycon Frequencies used by Helicopters.
