To confirm my own post, a job to The Victoria, Altrincham.
As i dont know where Altrincham is i googled it an its by sale in manc.
Anyone else think this is strange an pretty far fetched?

2 Taxi firms (on in garston, another bolton) and one in manc that seems to be a loaned radio system from a provider, though I have never seen a taxi firm loan a radio system (doesn't have its own licence)

Pretty normal i pick up a liverpool taxi firm and im in morecambe..sp around 43 miles..they are well overpowered i presume.

a year on,i know,but,im a taxi driver in manchester and have been for years.we heard a liverpool cab firm for years,all day everyday.the radios we used were really old pye radios,in 1996 they fitted new kenwood radios and liverpool cabs had gone.i was on the way back from wales one nite and i was chatting to the controller from the a55 around rhyl as clear as it was from the manchester city center.

theres a number of factors you have not told us about the set up you have im using a potrolman scanner with a good outdoor antenna the top of the mounting pole is about 40 foot in the air then the antenna so yes i pick up a fair bit from all over the place
