462.8875, theatre talkback?

Post by 5thElement »

Just doing another scan and i've come across this "broadcast" thats been transmitting non stop on 462.8875.

It sounds like a theatre doing rehearsals.

I can hear a piano and singing from what i guess is the stage, sounds like it's a musical they're rehearsing. Over the top i can hear a woman saying "cue LX 49, cue LX 50" and i've gathered that "LX" are lights. I can also hear them mention stage/wardrobe/smoke machines etc

I've got one theatre which about a 5 minute walk away (Liverpool Everyman Theatre) and another which is a little further, maybe a 10-15 minute walk (Liverpool Empire)

There's also the possibility it could be the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, but i'd put money on it being one of the two theatres. If the weather wasn't so crap i'd have taken a walk and found out which one it was lol

Some different again, im hoping they'll say something that gives away who they are or what musical it is lol

They're away for a 5 minute cigarette and tea break now lol she said "and remember, no drinking alcohol while we're doing a technical rehearsal" lol

I've just had a poke about on the JFMG site and found, under the fixed talk-back use:

462.90625
462.96875

462.79375

462.98125

Cheers

I had to go out for an hour or so, i just got home and this is still running now, so thats atleast 3 hours or so. They're still rehearsing by the sound of things.

I guess it's probably the theatre closest to me, it's not like they'll have external antennas etc so it's probably a safe bet.

EDIT:

Just did some investigating and i think im right.

Looks like it is the theatre i thought, the Everyman Theatre. I heard them mention a wedding dress earlier, and on the theatres website, the show running from 21/25th November is "The Taming of the Shrew" and in the description of it it says "A man playing a boy dresses up as a girl and a girl played by a boy dresses up as a bride in a delicious story full of mistaken identities and transformations." lol the live show is supposed to be on at 19:30 tonight, so i suppose i'll find out then! almost certain thats what it is now.

Little update.

They were rehearsing last night until at least 10pm and after that the radios seemed to be left on all night and i just heard a silent carrier. Got home this afternoon and they're rehearsing more, still setting up lights and also pyro's earlier.

Im sure the first proper performance is tonight, so i'll listen and see what happens.

Hey Fifth - when the performance is on, see if you can hear the performers' radio mics. Take a look at the JFMG site for frequencies. Probably 200MHz-ish or 800MHz-ish WFM.
