V22 Osprey
Hi, did any members happen to see a V22 Osprey over Newcastle Upon Tyne today (7/5/15)? I wasn't aware that British forces had that aircraft? Cheers.

Re: V22 Osprey
Ok, thanks for the reply. Just checked on the net and it looks like it's been in the UK conducting NATO operations. Did it appear on FR24?

Re: V22 Osprey
How do they get the Osprey over here from the states? Surely it can't fit on a C17?

Re: V22 Osprey
Ah, I see. Thanks. 'In bits' is their normal state anyway according to some accounts on the net! While I'm on could you tell me the best outdoor antenna to use for listening to the air band. I've got a UBC92XLT and I'm only approx 6 miles from the airport. I can get ground comms on UHF but it's very noisy. Thanks in advance.

Im a handheld man so i use a Watson w-881 30cm whip, works good for airband when i am inside and when out and about.

Callsign would probably have been "Knife #".

It has a ferry range of 2230 miles, so a CV22 could hop across the Atlantic via Greenland and Iceland if they really wanted.
