Re: Maxi taxi
Yes this is Macs taxis. They are based around Durham and it can be a real laugh hearing people book taxis. The thing that i dont get with Macs taxis is that whenever i hear them, they are always not able to have taxis booked, they more often than not say no. Remember once there was a chinese lady wanting a free, or heavily discounted, taxi and she was claiming they were very late and that she was stood at the door the whole time, even while phoning. If you had heard it, you would agree that she was wanting free or cheap taxis. She was never stood at the door. On another note, i also pick them up on another channel, although its an exact copy of the other one although one is clearer.

Listening to that frequency now, but haven't heard anything yet. Should I be able to receive them from Billingham on a handheld scanner?

Re: Maxi taxi
Handheld scanner with basic rubber antenna, I could always plug it into my 5 element and beam it towards Durham.rayzor_uk wrote:would doubt it its durham area saying that depends on your arial and scanner

Re: Maxi taxi
I was 13 floors up in me grans flat (15 story high rise block of flats) in Stockton tonight and I took a radio to listen out for these
What with being so high up and pointing sort of towards the Durham area I thought I`d get them but never heard a thing on that freq.
I heard GB3CD from over towards Crook way and GB3IR from Ripon way so I know the radio hasn`t decided to go deaf on me lol
