Create a bctool file.

Post by bpoolfc95 » 23 Sep 2012, 16:25

Hi all, because I've got my new USC 230e scanner, I've spent days on the laptop compiling masses of information. I will upload the Tyne Wear freqs and other relevant freqs onto this website but first I need to know how to turn them into a bctool file, the ones where you upload straight to your uniden scanner. Can't remember the actual file extensions so I hoe you know the ones. BTW, they are being created on notepad.

Run BcTool, create your systems and groups, load up the frequencies, save to file, share :D

Or you can post channel lists here, as text like this :

Code: Select all

446.00625 1,446.00625,SEARCH,NFM
446.01875 2,446.01875,SEARCH,NFM
446.03125 3,446.03125,SEARCH,NFM
446.04375 4,446.04375,SEARCH,NFM
446.05625 5,446.05625,SEARCH,NFM
446.06875 6,446.06875,SEARCH,NFM
446.08125 7,446.08125,SEARCH,NFM
446.09375 8,446.09375,SEARCH,NFM
and we can import easily using FreeScan's easy-grab

Right thanks for that, it's pretty simple really. I'll upload them either this afternoon or tomorrow morning in a new forum topic. There will be a few but they are all recent and I'd say there's a couple hundred of freqs.

sure, it's a button in Freescan for any given selected group, that allows you to cut-and-paste in from webpages or other text sources.

see http://wiki.radioreference.com/index.ph ... can_EZGrab

So you'd highlight the 8 lines of my PMR446 example above and ctrl-c to copy it, then use EZgrab and specify which 'column' is which (name, frequency, tone, mode) and of course that the comma separates the columns, and it will add it all to the group by grabbing from the Windows ctrl-c/ctrl-v 'clipboard'. Really simple!

It's a great feature, it took me literally seconds to grab quite a few freqs for the nottingham area that someone had posted on here. It would of taken me hours to type them all in manually or on BCTool.

that's good to hear, thanks for letting us know how you got on.

There's tons of general purpose channel listings here, too :
