Re: Air Ambulance & Lifeboats
Lifeboats tend to use Channel 00 in the Mraine VHF alocation. 156MHz This is usually disabled on marine VHF radios.

Re: Air Ambulance & Lifeboats
It's possible 'Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance' http://www.ambucopter.org.uk use Airwave for operational needs, enabling comms with any on-scene police/ambulance/fire.
Airbourne transmit freqs are
384.8125
384.8375
384.8625
384.8875
384.9125
384.9375
384.9625
384.9875
— these are TETRA (DQPSK) mode, but you can sometimes detect transmissions using WFM mode, or slightly offset freqs, depending upon your scanner; although the range is much reduced compared to AM/FM transmissions.
Of course all you can hear is digital noise, but at least you might be able to work out whether it is the Air Ambulance or not, by comparing any transmissions with news reports of incidents attended.
ATC comms are likely to be whatever VHF Air services are appropriate for the area they are in.
Based at RAF Waddington, these would be a good place to start listening
121.30000 AM RAF Waddington Tower
125.35000 AM RAF Waddington Radar
127.35000 AM RAF Waddington Approach
